NanoIR Spectroscopy and Imaging

Join us for this exciting virtual workshop on the nanoscale Infrared spectroscopy and imaging technology, which brings together an impressive panel of speakers who will share their knowledge and provide us with an insight into their work.

By combining infrared spectroscopy with atomic force microscopy-based (AFM-IR), it is possible to perform chemical analysis and compositional mapping with a spatial resolution down to 10 nanometers, which is significantly below standard optical diffraction limits. Our speakers will go into the origins of the technique, its recent advances and the wide range of possible applications, from areas as diverse as materials science, life science, and astrochemistry. The technique can be used to unravel the structure of functional and pathological protein self-assemblies and the structure of single protein molecules.

There will also be talks on the use of AFM-IR to study the buried interphase structure of polymer/metal oxides, nanoscale regions inaccessible to most organic analysis techniques, and the use of scattering SNOM to image the nanoscale light-matter interaction from bubbles in graphene heterostructures with the view to their future use in tuneable nanophotonic devices.

Dr. Miriam Unger will guide us through the afternoon with demos, live from our labs in Germany, and will provide us with an overview of new product updates.

We look forward to seeing you there!
